Hagia Sophia, or Ayasofya, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Istanbul, renowned for its stunning architecture and rich history. Originally constructed in 537 AD under the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, it served as the largest Christian cathedral in the world for nearly 1,000 years. In 2020, Hagia Sophia was once again designated as a mosque, but it remains open to visitors from all over the world.
